HOW TO GET THERE?
By public transport
we highly recommend to come to the Symposium by public transport. There are regular direct trains between the main cities in Belgium (Antwerp, Brussels, Brussels-Airport, Ghent, Liège,...) and Hasselt. Train schedules can be found on the website of NMBS/SNCB. The venue is easily accessible from Hasselt station through a 15 minutes walk, by Blue-bike (with membership) or by bus Boulevardpendel (take the bus right at the exit of the stairs and go out at Dusartplein).
By car
there is a Q-Park parking below Dusartplein, at 50m of the venue. Follow Parking Dusart.
Recommendations from Brussels-Zaventem Airport to the city of Hasselt
The most convenient way is to take the SNCB train that runs from the airport to Hasselt Station. For direct trains, it departs every hour, and the journey is about 1 hour and 02 mins. A one-way ticket is 19,60 Euro, for second class. There are also other timetable options, but you may have to make a change or two. Plan your journey here. Tickets can be purchased via the company’s app or the totems inside the aeroport. If needed, Belgian trains staff will also be there to help you with the purchase and location of the platforms. You will find the train station directly under the Departure and Arrival Halls of the airport (level -1). The escalator or lift will take you directly to the platform (or into the airport). Have you just arrived at the Brussels Airport station? Have your train ticket ready. You will need to scan it at the entrance gates to go to the platform.
Recommendations from Brussels South Charleroi Airport to the city of Hasselt
There is no direct train or bus from the Charleroi Airport to the city of Hasselt. The most common way is to take a Flibco bus (also targeted as Flixbus) that will lead you to Brussels Midi Station (also named Brussels Zuid). Then, from Brussels Midi/Zuid Station, you can take a train to Hasselt. The shuttle bus cost around 19,95 Euros. It departs every 20 minutes, and on average, the journey takes around 55 minutes – depending on the traffic conditions. The train ticket will cost around 15,40 Euros, and this last journey will take around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
